I prefer this to the Blu Ray "restoration"
This DVD may not be anamorphic much less HD, but at least the colors are correct. This is the way I remember seeing the film back in the 1970s on TV. However, the 2012 "restored" DVD and Blu Ray have hyperactive greens and yellows in most scenes. Walls, candle-glow and even faces are often yellow-green, no matter what TV or projection system you use. It spoils what is otherwise a great movie. That is why I sold my Blu Ray and bought the old DVD version instead. I like it much better.

First Came Lugosi and then we Crowned Christopher Lee as King of the Vampire Actors
I was in Public School the first time I watched Dracula with Bela Lugosi as the King of the Vampires. The next time I saw a Vampire Film that stayed with me, was years later when I saw the film with Christopher Lee. The entire film he was silent, not a word was spoken by this tall actor with the most piercing eyes I have ever seen. Gone were my feelings of Lugosi as the Vampire, Vlad Dracul. Christopher Lee was now the King of the Vampires, but he was to portray some of my other favorite creatures of the Night. His Mummy, and Frankenstein's Monster were also well played. Christopher Lee went on to play many other fictional characters. His Dracula is still my favorite portrayal.
