    Ho Hum

    By now I have watched 4 versions of "Emma" and find this one to be mediocre by comparison. The only actor who was compelling was Mark Strong as Knightley. He was quite believable. The others? Disappointing. This surprised me a bit, since I had read numerous reviews in favor of this one. I thought, surely it will be decent. Not really. It makes the others shine even more. My absolute favorite version is the one done by the BBC (naturally), which I originally watched by checking it out of my library. This convinced me to pay the extra money to purchase it for myself. I certainly wish I had been able to watch this "Emma" before buying it. Then I would have saved myself some money.

    Better and Better

    The first time I watched this I enjoyed it, but thought it was just ok. I saw it again and liked it even better and the more I have watched it, the better it has gotten. It is like you get to know the characters better.
