Excellent job, mang
The Warriors is my favorite movie of all time. However, like most people will protest, the director’s cut hinders the quality, so I went in search of the original theatrical cut. No practical retailer sells it any more directly through paramount, but I found a good amount of copies floating around EBay. The cheapest I could’ve gotten would have been 4$ while the most expensive was 40$. This was a good inbetween. I was a little nervous buying a second hand copy, but this user seemed to have kept it in a prestine condition and he was only giving it away for 18$. Also, I took into consideration of all the other second hand dvds I had purchased at small markets that happened to be in much worse condition and realized I hadn’t much to lose. Anyways, to sum it up. I’m incredibly happy with this purchase. No scratches. The official theatrical cut with extra features. The case itself wasn’t all beaten to hell. Awesome classic!
Bought this because it's the original cut NOT the director's cut. I saw this movie when it first came out way back when, loved it then, love it now. It has characters and scenes that stick in your head forever. Great writing. Don't expect fabulous acting but do expect memorable scenes that you won't forget. A movie that stands the test of time. A must see for all you Boppers out there.
Even though this movie is dated, it is still a masterpiece. Just a brief synopsis...Nine delegates from several hundred gangs, (all unarmed & under truce) meet in the Bronx for the opportunity to unite as one. It seems everyone is on board. That is...until something goes horrible wrong. Now, the Warriors have to bop their way back....all the way to Coney Island. The action scenes are more realistic than most modern movies, the plot is strong, and the acting believable. A few of the villains colors are on the theatrical side, but that is for entertainment purposes. Most importantly, put yourself in the Warrior's shoes. Not a situation you want to find yourself in. Please note, there are TWO versions of this movie. This review is for the original movie as it aired back in the 70's. The new Director's cut version has been reformatted by the director as he originally wanted it to be filmed. It has cut away's that are similar to that of a comic book format. A MUST SEE
Even though I was 11 when the movie was released. It's one of my all time favorites dealing with one of the sub cultures in America. The plot ,characters and action are absolutely astounding.
