It is nice to find this series presented in its entirety and in a good clear copy. It is interesting to see the 60's take on spying. It is remarkably non-violent, probably unrealistically so. I doubt that one should expect much realism. I found the shows entertaining and like Patrick McGoohan's performances. His character is an interesting blend of intellectualism and brute force. This may reflect Mr. McGoohan's real personality. His biography states that he excelled in mathematics and boxing in college. I find this series an interesting precursor to his later work in the perhaps more famous series "The Prisoner", which he co-created. I recommend purchasing and watching this series but would try to buy it for no more $50 for the set.

The Secret Agent TV series is much better than the James Bond movie series, because it does not rely on gimmicky action; instead, viewers are treated to stories and situations that are extremely engaging. Patrick McGoohan stars as Secret Agent John Drake; he portrays an always clever, always cool, secret agent with considerable experience. Also, unlike the very cartoon-like James Bond, John Drake does not always succeed in his missions. Fans of either Secret Agent or James Bond will be interested to know that Patrick McGoohan was repeatedly asked to play the role of James Bond; and was, fact, instrumental in Albert Broccoli's finally choosing Sean Connery for the role of 007.
Awesome DVD set!! It collects all of the Danger Man aka Secret Agent series with Patrick McGoohan from the 1960s. I simply love it! It makes a great addition to my Classic television DVD collection and especially my Spy Television collection. Well worth the price!!!!

Anyone who likes "The Prisoner" series will find "Secret Agent" (called "Danger Man" in the UK)highly entertaining. I've been a fan of Patrick McGoohan since I first saw "The Prisoner" on PBS. Years ago I became aware of the "Secret Agent" series, but the cost of the VHS tapes was prohibitive. I was happy to see this DVD set at a reasonable price. It's very interesting to compare McGoohan's dark, brooding and sometimes acerbic portrayal of Number 6 in "The Prisoner" with his somewhat ironic but dashing portrayal of John Drake in "Secret Agent." Is Number 6 the captured spy John Drake? You decide for yourself. Mystery, humor, and fun awaits the viewer of "Secret Agent."
I remember this series from when I was a young man. It was on only for a short time, and I really liked it. I was surprised that it was available and bought it immediately. I have watched most of the episodes, and even though it was along time ago, I did remember some of the episodes, while others were new to me. I am very happy to have this set. It is just great that the series was saved, and made available for all of us to enjoy again.
