Author Biography
As a child, Beatrice Simon was charmed by the magic of crochet. It all started with Aunt Lila, who first taught her to make Granny squares in the 1970's. Her studies in languages and linguistics led her to travel widely, especially in southern Germany, where she taught her mother tongue for many years and worked as a translator. About six years ago, she decided to focus on translating works about her favorite subject: needle work in German, English, and French. At the same time, she rediscovered the endless possibilities for creating magic with just a hook and some yarn. In memory of her Aunt Lila, she took the pseudonym lillicroche, which she uses on her tri-lingual blog, lillicroche.wordpress.com, and published patterns. Since 2009, she has been living in Brittany, France, where the pot of ideas never stops simmering.
