  • Doesn’t have Bluetooth as expected. Waste of money over 850.

Uniden have two models of the XTRAK50, and this doesn’t have Bluetooth as I expected. You need the ‘pro’ version which otherwise shares the SAME model and looks identical. Very misleading for a layman expecting the Pro version simply came with more accessories for a ‘Pro’. I really wanted this feature so fee quite ripped off. The record playback function is nearly useless, because if anyone responds or adds a second transmission after the first then you cannot playback the original message and so the function is pointless in many cases (people often transmit multiple times, so only the very last is captured despite having a 60 second record limit). The ability to remove ‘crackle’ on weak signals is non existent. The EQ function makes such a little difference to sound I don’t know why they bothered. Spare batteries seem unobtainable. The webpage to claim your free car kit, simply creates a page to print and post to Uniden (in 2022 the company can’t set up a web form for this?!). It’s scan function feels slow to move through channels. Having a dot matrix OLED doesn’t make the unit intuitive at all as many function names are shortened. I can’t seem to set scan mode on certain channels only. If I could return it, I would in a heartbeat and get the 850 model or another manufacturer 5w unit, and save $150. It’s simply not at all worth the cost. The non pro version shouldn’t exist as it doesn’t make sense. It should have a lower model number of other very clear distinction that the two XTRAK50’s don’t share the same functionality.
