Product Information
The Garza brothers began working as professional musicians at an early age as the backup band for their father's act, the Texan conjunto band The Falcones. Ringo Garza Sr., who started the band with his own brothers, employed his three sons until they branched out on their own in 2003. With Henry on guitar, Jojo on bass, and Ringo Jr. on Drums, LOS LONELY BOYS recorded their self-titled debut album in Willy Nelson's Pedernales recording studio in Austin, Texas. The album, which would later be picked up for major distribution by Epic, fused the band's origins in roots music with an equally strong Latin pop sensibility. Simultaneously complex and accessible, LOS LONELY BOYS combined elements of rock, pop, roots, Latin music and soul, with the group's influences ranging from Santana to The Beatles and Chuck Berry. Each musician's professional background shows on tracks like the guitar-heavy "Crazy Dream," and on the largely instrumental "Onda," where the bass and drums are really allowed to shine. A great supporter of the band, Willy Nelson even appears, playing guitar on "La Contestacion." Always energetic but never forced, Los Lonely Boys's sound is relaxed and festive while still maintaining a certain level of sophistication. This dual disc features the CD version of LOS LONELY BOYS on one side and a DVD-Audio version with bonus video material on the other.Product Identifiers
