In this three-dimensional, action-adventure platform game for Xbox, you'll join cadet Raz and other psychologically gifted children learning to be mind reading spies, or psychonauts. They will complete training in mind games and manipulation at an adventure camp called Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp. You and your team of Psycadets, who live with Raz, will embark on a quest to stop someone from the camp from taking and harming other children. Find out who this villain could be and what he wants with Raz's camp pals. Find out about the evil plan being hatched at the expense of these spectacular children and their otherworldly gifts. You will find out as the story in this unique and exciting game unfolds during gameplay. Psychonauts is popular in its genre for both its storyline and creative gameplay. As Raz, you'll meet challenges that involve fighting monsters and other mystical creatures using a special tool called a Psi-Blast. Psychonauts levels begin requiring only running and jumping, but as Raz progresses through the ranks of the Psycadets, more complicated tricks blur the line between physical fighting and mental manipulation. Directed by Tim Schafer, Psychonauts is not only a fun game for Xbox by publisher Majesco, but it's also a mind-bending thrill ride of a story that will leave you in utter suspense. Players can maneuver the challenging levels of the game and transcend the barrier between the physical and non-physical worlds. Become immersed in levels, like The Milkman Conspiracy and Lungfishopolis, that push the boundaries of what it means to explore, battle, and strategize. Enter the minds of a Lungfish. Shed emotional baggage, fears, and memories by becoming the master of Raz's own mind and past. As Raz progresses through the game and learns to infiltrate the minds of those around him, you'll gain psychic merit badges for skills like telekinesis, clairvoyance, and telepathy. These newfound skills will earn you a place among the prestigious Psychonauts and help you complete all of the puzzles needed to save the campers and, ultimately, the world. The ultimate reward will be freedom from your fears and past and earning the title of Psychonaut. The title has an original release date of April 19, 2005. This Double Fine game can be played on both Xbox and the Xbox 360 console, taking advantage of the backward compatibility feature of the Xbox 360. The game can also be played on a Windows PC with the use of an emulator.
