This is the third different Ping putter I've had since I started playing about 10 years ago. The A-Blade is one of my favorite models. A Ping is a Ping, no matter how old it is. The signature ping sound it makes when you hit the perfect putt is enough to make you want to buy one. The price was good on the particular model I bought, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity. I love the look of all Ping putters, especially the cavity-back style (like the A-Blade). All in all, I think a Ping is the best putter on the market (and yes, that means better than a Scotty Cameron). And they are great for players of all skill levels. All in all, if you want a great putter, get a Ping.
I have been using the same putter for a number of years and have not been happy. I was looking for more of a retro style rather than the new putter types that look more like space ships rather than a golf club. A friend had a Ping Cushion (sp?) that he really liked. At roughly $20 I thought I would try this A-Blade putter (didn't want the same as his..of course). I don't believe that a club can make a great difference but this thing is great! I have a very high handicap and this club has changed my putting from 3-4 putting to 1-2 putting! If I could suggest one thing to help a game, this putter would be the ticket! The only thing I did was put a new Ping grip on it as it had the original which was dry rotting - cracked and glazed.
While I personally tend to prefer center shafted / non-offset putters, This A Blade is one of the offset putters I play well with. The Ping O Blade is my all time favorite, (which is mid-rear shafted with no offset), but this one runs a close second ... The head has a soft feel and the weight distribution is great ... If your putting stroke is solid, this is definitely a club you might want to try
I Love Ping Putters!! The technology is great, the Solheim Family has been great for Golf. This particular "A" blade is a beauty- neat lines and balance- beautiful sound. It will be very nice in My collection of about 20 other Ping Putters. Of course-when it comes to putters- we crazy golfers never have the perfect putter on the right day.
I Love the old School clubs, its like books soon as the power runs out we will need the books to teach our young, the old putters were built with great craftsmanship, and still work just as good as the new technology putters. this one will help me make some birddies if my other clubs dont break from old age.
