I've been a fan of the Roller Coaster Tycoon series for years. It's one of the most addicting games ever and so much fun! It's like having your personal theme park and you can ride the rides over and over again. I bought this game because I figured it was time to upgrade. I wish a little disappointed in the beginning. It is not as user friendly as the older series of the game. The format/layout is completely different that than older version. I almost put the game away completely, but I figured I'd give it another shot. After watching the tutorials, it becomes easier to follow and play, but it is still confusing and again, not as user friendly. All in all, I like the game and enjoy playing it. The graphics, sound, players in game, and rides are all much more life-like. I recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of the series, but warn that it is more difficult. B+Read full review
aking a sequel to a hit game is tricky business. If you simply rehash the original, fans will complain that it's more of the same. But if you change too much, you risk losing what made the original special. The RollerCoaster Tycoon series stands as good evidence of these potential pitfalls. The first game quietly debuted in 1999, only to become a huge success that spawned countless imitators. But the series stumbled with RollerCoaster Tycoon 2, which was deemed by fans to be too much like the first game. That brings us to RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, the newest game in the series. In many ways, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 is the sequel we've been waiting for--the one that updates the gameplay and graphics to modern-day standards. Yet while RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 delivers on those promises, its potential is undermined by some glaring bugs.Read full review
The game is a little better then RCT2 becuase you now can ride your rollercoaster and rides instead of staring at them. The controls change a lot and I suggest taking the tutorials first. The game will seem different at first but you will get used to it. In this game your workers will now quit if not happy. The expansion lets you makes pools ect. and you can do fireworks :) If you like RCT Then I say that this is a good game to start on! Thanks for viewing my guide!!!!
I have always loved playing roller coaster tycoon as a teenager and now even into my young adulthood! The 3rd edition of the game not only has better graphics but it allows you to actually be on the ride so you see what you're guests see on the rides. it also allows for the little demon in us all to delete a section of track and allow riders to go on it thus causing them to crash! Also with the added expanded pack you can build pools and slides!!! The only Disadvantage of the game is that you have a park evaluator at the park at all times so if he doesnt like the ride you built he will shut it down ( you can re-open the ride) but it still takes time out to re-do it. Also if they do decide to make a new one i think that you should be able to control the ride from a different camera angle and im talking more options than "open, test and close" im talking like close doors. close harnesses. launch ride. etc etc... All in all though the game is a technology break through compared to the previous versions of roller-coaster tycoon... It is a fun game the whole family can enjoy. From watching Peeps (thats what they are called in the game) watching them jump for joy after riding a customly designed ride to watching them drown in a lake... its all fun in the end!! Thanks for reading! jayhawker1212!Read full review
I bought the 1st RollerCoaster Tycoon game and the limited controls really annoyed me. I saw this one and it sounded awesome so I got it. It came with a free expansion upgrade and was really fairly priced. For fans of this series, you're going to love this game, it's really badass. You get to design the peeps in your park, upload your own mp3 music into the game, you can even create fireworks shows that explode to the beat of your music. It's pretty sick, not to mention there are no longer any limits to the camera controls. They have this feature now called the "sandbox mode" which has no money involved, you just get to build as much as you want. Like I said, if you're a fan of this series, you're going to love this game!
