NTG2 replaced my NTG-3
I sold my Rode NTG-3 for top dollar so picked up an NTG-2 as a replacement shotgun for my video camera because there are times when battery operation can be handy. Sound quality wise, there's little in it and the extra output of the NTG-2 is a bonus.

Film makers delight
It is a lightweight professional shotgun mic, fantastic for shooting outside (will require a blimp if it is windy). All in all, a great mic! 10 year free warranty if you register the mic with Rode.
