I didnt have high hopes for this when I initially bought it. I knew that when it came, it would have areas I could improve upon. BUT... when you compare the cost of the professional version ($300+) as opposed to this product which was only $45, you get so much more than your money is worth, you get the sharpening stones as well which gives you more reason to buy this. I'll use an extra clamp to hold down the knives a bit better, but thats my only problem, which hasnt bothered me at all. If youre looking for a sharpening system that will do a great job but dont want to spend the big bucks, I highly recommend this product! Very satisfied!!

Does exactly what it was designed to do. Smaller blades @ sharper angle cuts can be an issue with the stones hitting the plastic stopper but some small mods soon fix that A blade clamp arangement that rotates 180 degrees would be a better design I'm sure that wouldn't add much to the manufacturing cost & I for one would be prepared to pay the extra for this

A great little knife sharpening system. Definitely read the instructions as I made a few mistakes initially because I didn't. Once you have read them it's easy to use and can easily grind in a new edge angle on a blade. I put an entirely new edge on my kitchen knife and got it pretty sharp (gliding through fine paper without tearing). It took me less than half an hour to completely re-edge and sharpen a blade and even less time for a normal sharpening. The kid could do with a 5000 or 6000 grit stone but other than that, no complaints at all. Very happy and surprised.

Purchased this on spec knowing it was a knock off of an American brand, quality is okay, but it is about 1/12 of the cost of the original made in USA, so if you take that into consideration quality is good. One fault if you can call it that is that the instruction manual is not all that clear, but if you look up videos on youtube it becomes much clearer how to use it. You can also buy the original stones which will fit this sharpener if you want to upgrade the stones. If you are competent at sharpening or a novice, once you work out how to use it and get the feel, it is i great sharpener for the money, if would not hesitate to buy another one. Have sharpened 3 knives so far, and got them to the sharpness i require, could get them a lot sharper if i wanted to. The key to this sharpener is, take your time and be patient. The edge will come, and once you get the feel for it, is good little sharpener, especially for the price.Read full review

The biggest issue with the sharpener is that I was unable to stop the ball joint moving while sharpening the knives. To resolve the issue I ended up gluing the ball joint in position. If I was buying the sharpener again I think I would buy one of the ones with a fixed angle. Apart from the issue with the ball joint, that sharpener seems to do a very good job sharpening knives.
