Surprising. It actually works amazingly well for the price.
This winch is being used as a hoist to tip a 7x5 car trailer up onto its tail, up vertically against against a wall in a warehouse. The winding speed was a bit to fast using the single rope so I utilised the supplied pulley to make it a double rope lift which effectively halves the speed and doubles the lifting capability. The trailer weighs approx 300kg, but it never actually lifts the trailer, just tips it up and holds it vertically. Does this with absolute ease as it should considering it is capable of lifting 600kg in this double rope configuration. I found that the rope does not always wind evenly on the spool which causes it to jump a bit when winding under tension. The winch should be mounted exactly level and the load should be directly under or else it will wind onto one end of the spool. Overall, an amazing product considering it was just over $150 which included postage (To Tasmania).Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The hook is too big so when it's hooked in the side it hits the cable on the spool which will lead to a damaged cable. The 2nd hook has the thread going too far down the screw so when tightened up it pinches the pulley preventing it from turning freely. It also has intermittent electrical connection when lowering it causing the motor to keep momentarily stopping resulting in a very rough decent which could lead to damaging everything - motor, bearings and the load.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very useful workshop winch
Pros: nicely made overall but see below. Good value for money Cons: The actual unit (motor and gearbox) are only held in by 2 x M10 bolts screwed into die-cast aluminium.
