What an awesome story by Stephen King. The plot, characters, and awesome acting make this a keeper for all time. It is defenitely one to rewatch over and over. Must see even to just see all the great actors that just began their careers in this movie. Stephen King, at his best this is S.K version of the end of the world with only a few left to start over. A man made fast acting virus is released. The people left had to completely start from scratch they had to go back to old w aways to survive. The book was awesome and the movie and actors were great! Good adaptation of a long book
I love most of the movie adaptations of Stephen Kings books, including this one. I have bought the dvds of most of them since I’m afraid that the ones I’ve paid for on Amazon Prime might not be there forever. Now I just hope my DVD players hold up. I like the cast in The Stand, and it stuck to the story pretty well considering my paperback copy has 1135 pages. this movie is the most true to the book movie I have ever seen. after having read the book I was astounded to see that the actors that Stephen King picked to play the characters looked amazingly like the ones that I had pictured in my head.
