Most songs here are better then the movie
85 percent of the songs are top notch recordings produced by the late Sir George Martin.. The Bee Gees, Peter Frampton, Steve Martin, Billy Preston and others take part in the movie and the recording of this album that has covers from the sgt Pepper Era and the Revolver era... The songs sound fresh and the album art is close to the LP as it could get... The inlay has a shot of the poster of the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton dressed in their hero costumes posing on a giant instrument... Most Beatle fans are not to fond of this project... Takes me back to a time of innocence, when life was more simple.
The Frampton / Bee Gees version came out when i was 16, my childhood friend & i used to listen to this soundtrack, we wore this record out, Peter Frampton's version of The long & Winding Road is my favorite song on this album, the rest of the album sounds kinda nerdy but it does bring back a lot of good childhood memories & that's why 40 years later i finally bought the disc,Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Fun listening & severely underrated
This is a really fun ride through selected Beatles songs. Ignore all of the contemporary and present critics who trash this. SPLHCB is well performed, well sang, arranged well and produced with care by the Beatles’ own producer. This was condemned by most BEFORE it was released because (1) the Kings of Disco were (2) sacrilegiously daring to cover the Fab Four. Peter Frampton, Jeff Beck, Billy Preston, Larry Carlton & members of Toto, plus other talents play the music. The Bee Gees, Frampton, Earth Wind & Fire, Aerosmith, Preston, Alice Cooper and other talents sing. ALL BEATLES SONGS. All exceptionally well. Listen to this with an open mind and open ears and you’ll enjoy it. It doesn’t replace the Beatles music but it was never meant to - it’s all a loving homage (after all, George Martin and Billy Preston, who worked on this, worked with the Beatles and neither of them intended to dis the Liverpool Lads, and neither did any of the other artists, despite what the critics said).Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
