    Brings the Past Alive

    Using historical documents the series gives a wonderful view of Roman life and customs. The rampant corruption of the Senate and other characters is excellently portrayed. Makes movies like Cleopatra look like a high school dress up--pure fantasy. Best attempt at character representation are for Caesar and Brutus. The political ruthlessness of the senior women portrayed is a sheer joy to experience. Good sound and vision and not too gory.
