They work great on carpet!
I didn't have anywhere to set up a trainset so I ended up with Bachmann tracks. I've been using my DCC controls and had to modify my tracks to include a male/female plug to make up for not being able to run a bus under my tracks for power. It's a compromise but it works great.

28 inch radius track
My layout is rather large, and I run the largest HO locomotives out there.....4-8-8-4, 4-6-6-4, and a cab-forward 4-8-8-2. This large radius track is "just what the doctor ordered". And, I have a larger layout planned for the distant future. This track is proving very durable, and with few alterations I believe it can be used in a DCC environment.

Great for the long passenger trains.
Recently I acquired some HO scale 85 foot long passenger train cars. The 28 inch radius curved track is in my opinion the smallest radius usable for the longer passenger cars. If you have the room, go bigger, but the 28 inch radius works great and the cars follow the track nicely.
