This is one of the best family shows ever played on Tv. I love Jim Henson and he out did himself with this series. The baby is adorable and steals the show. Daddy Earl makes a living as a tree pusher and gets beat up by the baby because he is "NOT THE MOMMA". Grandma Ethyl hates Earl and of course lives in his house to make his life miserable. Fran his wife is a house wife who takes care of Robbie and Charlene who are forever getting into trouble. Then there is the refrigerator which has a mind of it own, you have to remember the food is still alive. Compared to other movies on the market this is geared more to the family but extremely funny, if you like Family Guy or American Dad you may like this movie. My kids and I sat down and laughed non-stop for hours and must have.
I love this show. I had forgotten just how good it was when I bought it. I watched it as a kid and wanted mine to see it since I knew he would enjoy it also. Well he did! It has all of the life lessons and family craziness that goes on in human life but portrayed by Dinosaurs! You can't go wrong with Jim Henson!!!! I reccomend for anyone wanting a good laugh!

Only saw bits and pieces of this show as a kid, but remember it being very good with a lot of jokes I did not fully understand. Coming back to it now, especially with the political climate the way it is, the show is perfectly relevant to today and extremely entertaining. It deals with a lot of harder material that you just don't see in TV anymore, especially for a show aimed mostly for children.

My Handicapped Daughter loves these videos. She remembers them from when she was a kid. She actually used to talk like the baby and we thought they must have been watching her because he mimics her so well. So wonderful the memories! "Not the Momma".

News stories written at the time of the show's premiere highlighted Dinosaurs' connection to Jim Henson, who had died the year before. "Jim Henson dreamed up the show's basic concept about three years ago," said a New York Times article in April 1991. "'He wanted it to be a sitcom with a pretty standard structure, with the biggest differences being that it's a family of dinosaurs and their society has this strange toxic life style,' said [his son] Brian Henson. But until The Simpson's took off, said Alex Rockwell, a vice president of the Henson organization, 'people thought it was a crazy idea.'"[1] In the late 1980s, Jim Henson had worked with illustrator/designer William Stout on a feature film starring animatronic dinosaurs with the working title of The Natural History Project; a 1993 article in The New Yorker said that Henson continued to work on a dinosaur project (presumably the Dinosaurs concept) until the "last months of his life."[2] The television division of the Walt Disney Company began working on the series in 1990 for CBS before the series landed on ABC.Read full review
