About this product

Product Information

The Canon EOS 630 Film Camera is an extremely fast, focus film camera. The Canon EOS 630 Film Camera can focus twice as fast as the other earlier Canon EOS series cameras. The Canon EOS 630 Film Camera features a focus prediction function which automatically predicts the position of a fast moving object. The metal body of the Canon EOS 630 Film Camera helps to steady the shot. Unlike many Canon EOS series cameras, the Canon EOS 630 allows the user to work with the camera as per their preference by altering up to seven functions. An important feature is the Intelligent Program AE with Variable Program Shift. The photographer can create anything from shallow-focus -zone portraits to blurred-motion shot with the Intelligent Program AE with Variable Program Shift.

    Perfect companion camera

I already had the same camera w/ lenses but the flash didn't work and it didn't have the remote. I basically bought this for the remote and manual but the camera is in better shape than the one I already had. I now have both cameras loaded with different speed film. Everything on this camera seems to work- even the flash. I have started taking pictures with it and the images are nice and crisp- again better than my other camera. Maybe someday I will go digital but with this camera that day isn't any time soon. (Yes, there are places that still develop film :) )

    Great when it works

I'm on my second Canon EOS 630. Good value for money, but can be unreliable. This camera takes professional quality pictures when used with a 50mm f/1.8 STM lens. If you can find one that is gently used or well taken care of, I'd get it.

  • Best ergonomics and only the features you NEED

This was Canon's first upgrade of its first serious autofocus 35 mm film camera. It has a bit faster motor drive than the 620 and 650. It fits the hand better than any newer camera I've held. There are no menus, per se. Everything is accessed by pressing a button, then turning the jog dial. The more seldom-used features are accessed by buttons under a cover at the bottom rear of the camera. It only has one focusing sensor, (center) and no IR illuminator, so do plan on great autofocus in low light with slow lenses. Do check the pricing of the lenses you want BEFORE you buy into the EOS system though: Since the lenses are still usable on current digital EOS', they cost more than you think, in some cases. Example? I'm currently seeking an EF 35/2. They still routinely get $175 for the old ones and $200+ for the stabilized ones. (stabilizer doesn't work on this body)

  • Canon EOS Rebel G 35 MM SLR film camera

This is 3rd or 4th Canon EOS Rebel (film) Camera I've owned. Third G body and now have a digital T3 (little more complicated to use). Excellent cameras. Excellent value. With digital editing software, can get even more professional-looking photos. Used when worked for small local newspaper, coworker developed film, before our digital point-and-shoot Sony cameras were purchased. I prefer Canon EOS Rebel cameras for ease of use. Fully functional "automatic" preset, settings or use professional, metered settings. No requirement for external flash for most photos, but has mount for more professional users. Excellent!!!!!! My personal favorite camera quality for money! Lenses and filters available and interchangeability is also a big plus!

  • I Purchased 3, No Regrets Yet!

I purchased 3 of these "dinosaurs" and gave one to my daughter who wanted to experiment with film cameras. Needless to say, that she has been thrilled for the items that she has been able to produce. I'm still doing heavy work with my digital cameras. When I do get around to these film cameras, I will update. But, using my daughter as a guage, I think I will be quite satisfied.

  • Canon Sure Shot XL or Canon Autoboy Zoom Super !!

Item was already a great value for what it was. This camera was released around 1989 and was great for its time. The camera itself is built like a tank and is larger than most SLRS but the reason for this is because of the great lens and functions. Would definitely recommend you pick one up if you know it works, these cameras can be gimmicky and not work so make sure you buy TESTED ones off of EBay.

  • Exactly what I was looking for

Came in good time, with 2 rolls of film. No battery but no problem. Image quality is decent and I’ll chalk it down to me needing to practice more. I’ve heard if canon eos 630s having a battery drain issue, but it’s been perfectly fine since I put it in. The lens that came with this order is also very nice. Thank you!

  • A home run from Canon in the film era

Works great and built like a tank. Not sure why anyone would pay 3x more for the 1V just to have more focus points (learn to recompose after focus) and ETTL (learn to shoot manual).
