Again one of Olivia series children's books. Cute drawings illustrating the story. Easy to read or be read to. Great learning lessons within the story. Caldecott Award seal.

The writer makes it sound like he is annoyed with Olivia who just wants some attention. We do not love this book

I like that Olivia comes to life in the pages of a boardbook for her younger fans! My daughter is 2 and still rips paper books, so she was thrilled when the Easter Bunny brought her this boardbook. She loves it so much she had it memorized right away and reads it to me!! The only thing I don't like is that it sends the message of not napping to very young children! My daughter would say what Olivia says for weeks before her nap time. It was very exhausting! Thankfully, she is still very little and does nap.
I know this is the book that started the Olivia series, but we collected the books a bit out of sequence. This is the second book we purchased (the first was Olivia and the Missing Toy, LOVE IT!!!!). However, this is a great book, too, In Olivia, we get a real sense of Ian Falconer's creation. She's smart, she's feisty, and she loves to dress up. My four year old daughter loves Olivia's different outfits. We have a great time reading the Olivia series. I'm sure you will, too!!
What's funny is... the reason I bought this book, is because of my newborn daughter... her name is Olivia. I saw a magazine article in one of my parenting magazines showing the book... so I had to get it. The book is very colorful, and although my daughter doesn't understand it, she loves the colors. It's really a cute book, and I look forward to buying more of the "Olivia" books.
