I'm glad to have finally caught up with this re-issue.It's still a happy journey and well worth the price of admission. There's an punchy R'n'B start with 'It's Only Love'.Some trace of Jethro Tull is still evident and 'Dear Jill' could have walked straight out of 'This Was'.The Blues are to the fore throughout and it never sounded so bittersweet. The band were already seasoned players long before this album was around and it shows. The sound of contemporaries such as John Mayall and Jon Hiseman is reflected here but 'Pig steer their own course throughout. This was always my favourite out of the two 'Pig albums.'Sing me a song that I know' is still a favourite twenty eight years later. They did several singles and the extra tracks tidy up their early career nicely. It's a great Time Capsule too and reminds me of music appreciation lessons at school. We were invited to take in our own records and this got a righteous slagging off by classmates. That confirmed to me how wonderful it was! Go on,dip your toe in! Amanda HunterRead full review
Likes: Simply a very good album for its time .Mick Abrahams at his early best , on the lines of Jethro Tulls 'This Was ' album which included Abrahams in the line up . Excellent blues/ jazz improvisation. An album worthy of its acclaim as one of britain's best blues albums
