This is a classic game from the Sega Genesis library. The Streets of Rage series pretty much defined the side-scrolling beat 'em up genre at the time. What makes this final entry in the series so compelling (and divisive) among fans is the BPM-ish electronica sound track. Sure the character roster is updated and so are the animations, but it's the music that people either love or hate. If you haven't guessed, I'm in the love-it camp on this one. If you have an original working Genesis console or one of the recent hardware emulators, you should add this game to your collection.

Great game! Lots of fun just like I remembered! Hard at times but keeps me trying! Some parts I dident remember witch made it even more fun! The fighters are different and have different styles!

This is a great follow up to the Streets of Rage games. While 2 remains my favorite, this one comes in 2nd. It's definitely more challenging than the first two but so much fun I keep come back trying to beat it. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Although not as refined as the wonderful Streets of Rage 2, this third iteration does feature notable improvements such as faster gameplay, better graphics and more intricate animation. The often-maligned musical score is not bad per se but rather "out there" alternative. It's definitely an acquired taste. However, the game could have used more development time. Sometimes, punches and kicks don't visually make contact with your combatants making the visual presentation a tad bit sloppy at times. Also, this game is considerably harder than the previous game causing more frustration to some players. Despite its warts, I highly recommend this awesome game to anyone contemplating adding three to the rest of their collection.
Great game. Blast from the past. Value has shot up.

This is a fun game. I used to play it with my Son back when he was little (he just graduated college). There's lots of action and fighting in this game. You don't really see any blood, but a lot of enemies die per round. There are seven levels and lots of bosses (heavy duty fighters) to defeat until the final one and you get to battle Mr. X twice (the head bad guy). It's a good way to kill and hour or two, and yes the pun was intended. This product is top notch on playing and skill level for the time period. It can't compare to the graphics of today, but for 1994 and being 16 bit, it was top notch. I do enjoy Streets of Rage II more, but III has some good upgrades, but needed to have Max from II back. You'll probably enjoy playing quite a bit and relive some memories if you are a second time around player like me. If not, it's still A BLAST to defeat the bad guys and throwing them over your back is WAY COOL.Read full review
Superb entry! The game speed was faster then the other SoR Games, with dashing and rolling. To tell you the truth, the music is really good, and the style is completely different. The game can be bit unforgiving, but that comes with territory, as beat em ups are usually fairly challenging. I also like how there are multiple ending to the game, and you can learn super moves with the accumulated experience points. I am giving the NA version a 4/5 due to some downgrades, otherwise Bare Knuckle 3 would get a 5/5. I recommend this!
I have all three games and I think 2 and 3 are the best. This beat em up will be sure to give you something to do if you are bored. Take a chance solo or team up with a friend. My favorite characters are Blaze and Skate. This is a sought after game that has reached bids of $40 or more(complete and case and cartridge only). I suggest you keep yours eyes open for a deal unless you have the means to "Make It Rain" to add this gem to your collection. This game should keep you entertained. It did for me. I couldn't get enough of playing the Streets of Rage series, Double Dragon series, and Final Fight series.
As if the first two weren't good enough then this one comes out and blows them away if you own a sega genesis this is a must have in any collection you get 4 people to choose from great sound effects and grafics (for 16 bit consoles)I can play this for hours!streets of rage three is a great side scrolling brawler type game very colorful.I collect video games and systems from my childhood and I wouldn't be without this one I love it as much today as I did then.
Works great
