This is a great little calculator that doesn't cost a lot of money. The display is very readable. As with other Casio calculators I've owned, the user's guide is quite... cryptic. I wouldn't recommend it for a college statistics class, but it will do very basic statistics. If you don't need all the power of a top-of-the-line graphing calculator, it will work fine. If you've been doing math coursework and you've been struggling with the calculator that is built into Windows, please please please do yourself a favor and buy this to use instead. -- from a very busy math teacher in Boston!
I bought the Casio fx-115ES last weeks and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive calculator. It has a two line natural display features, that makes it rock!. The calculator its a little light weight compared to may recent calculator that i used back on my college days. I no have complains or any issue regarding the product, even though its a used one. There's no scratch on it, and looks like new. I recommend you must have one of this.
The Casio FX-115ES PLUS has a few more features but this one is adequate for high school math. If you purchase one, it probably will be old stock so the battery may be dead as it was in the one I got.

Love this calculator. Originally purchased a TI-30XS Multi View which is a nice calc. also, but the Casio is far and away a better unit for the cost and the features it has. The Casio for instance has a small battery compartment in the back which facilitates easy removal/replacement of the single LR44 cell. The TI unit needs to be disassembled with a tiny phillips screwdriver and the entire back must be removed. Granted, the batteries last many, many moons, but still it should have been designed more user-convenient. Also the display on the Casio if far superior to that of the competition, very readable with no eye strain at all. Just get one of the 115ES's and you won't be disappointed, I promise you.
I like this calculator very much. I have been trained in accounting and finance, also do engineering math. This serves my purpose very well, The solar power is a real plus

My need when selecting this calculator was too assist in my home work shop calculations. I understand how to use fractions but It would be easier to solve by using the Casio. Another need is when converting metric measurements to our standard. Having this calculator handy makes the overall process better by helping with accurate calculations. As of now these are my major uses of the Casio-fx115ES PLUS. At this time I can't think of any drawbacks or negativity to this item. I'm sure there will be other uses for the Casio in the future. In conclusion I didn't realize the capabilities of this machine, so much for a small price.

I have degrees in Astrophysics, Structural Engineering and Physics. This is the perfect calculator. It's what I use. You don't need anything fancier. It's fine. It does what you need it to do. It has a nice case so it doesn't get janked up after years of neglect getting smashed in your backpack every day. You don't need to spend more money on something fancier.

What i like about this calculator is that it has some cool features like integration, differentiation, summation. so you can easily check whether your answer is right in an exam. Also, you do not need to put characters into parenthesis while dividing, adding, subtracting or multiplying, the software calculate base on the principle of "BODMAS." Although substantial amount of time is needed to get familiar with the features,it is a good gadget for any math problem you might encounter, highly efficient and accurate.I guranttee you will always be glad you bought it.
The calculator seems to be the best non-graphical calculator. It has a solar battery that allows working with it in a room with moderate light. (my calculator came with a dead battery so i could test the solar battery from the start :) It has an intuitive display - the integrals and sums have placeholders (under it and above it) for specifying the starting and ending of the integrals. Same thing with most mathematical signs - looks like on paper - intuitive. It came also with instructions in english! :)
