It's a lightweight, mostly plastic film camera, so meant for the beginner photographer but can also be used by serious pros I think, as it has a manual mode as well as aperture priority, shutter priority and of course program or auto mode. In fact many of features one finds on higher end digital cameras. I can't comment on the pictures as I am using it right now and have to develop the film etc. Film cameras are not like digital, as it's not just the camera body, a lot depends on the lens used, the film stock and ISO etc. And most importantly, who is behind the lens :).

I like the camera and the deal I got for it. What I don't like is not the seller's fault but the fact that at times, if the focus is not right, even in manual mode, the camera refuses to take the picture until I adjust it just right. I bought it because i needed a 35 mm film camera for a black and white photography course I'm taking at school.
I purchased a lot (5) of these cameras with the thinking that the wife and kids would get into photography, for those that decided to this camera was extremely easy to learn and use, in my opinion it has every basic feature that you could want and makes an excellent beginners 35mm SLR or an excellent back up camera, plus a wide slection of lenses to choose from.
My original camera of the same model fell recently and the battery cover popped off. I have had this camera for almost 10 years and it still takes excellent pictures in auto and manual mode. People ask why I won't go digital so I say: Why? This camera is a gem!?
Great camera system; easy to use; ease in loading film and batteries. Lightweight camera Recommend this film camera ahead of the Canon or Nikon.
The purchase did not match the picture nor the description of the product. The product i received had no lenses with it and when I put 3 different sets of batteries in the camera it would not turn on. There was still an ancient roll of film in the camera which would not come out at first. I feel like someone just wanted to pawn some old junk they found in the back of a closet somewhere and didn't care how they described it, just long as they got money for it. I purchased the camera on the 4th of December and to add insult to injury it took 19 days for it to arrive and then it didn't work or have all the parts with it. This was a very disappointing Christmas gift for my child.
I love this camera. I use to use an XG1 till someone broke the on/off switch. I am not impressed with the pictures of the Digital cameras. Cannot afford the 15mp SLR. Minolta is the best camera ever made in my estimation. The price was great and the camera is like new.
I use it during the month and i really like it. Really ergonomic camera body: comfortable to keep it in hand. All buttons and manage parts of device are ergonomically situated. I had don't use Minolta cameras before, but it wasn't a problem. Because it has intuitively clear management. I just don't like, that lenses' motors are noisily, but it really nice device for its cost. I'm glad that i purchased this camera.
Beautiful camera, nice working order. I bought the camera because I'm learning phototography, I have a digital but I have switched to film camera's for learning experiance. In comparing the particular camera to a Nikon Film 35mm, I would rate them both to be a great beginners camera, which is exactily what I was looking for.
The STsi was my very first SLR camera over 10 years ago. It had an accident and back then it was just as pricey to fix than to buy a new one. Enter digital and I all but forgot about my love for my STsi. Rediscovering it again in near mint condition was very exciting. The price was unbelievable (I was very skeptical at first). So far everything looks to be in excellent working condition. Unfortunately, I have yet to test it with film. I look forward to that.
