It's Superman!"), THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN was the first attempt to bring the comic book character to television screens. This first season originally aired in 1952, and established great cinematic characters such as Lois Lane (Phyllis Coates), Jimmy Olsen (Jack Larson), and of course Clark Kent (George Reeves) himself. By day Kent attempts to live an anonymous existence as a reporter for the Daily Planet, but when trouble comes calling, he transforms into Superman, the last survivor from the planet Krypton. What's not to like? For me it's nostalgic but the early TV limited special effects employed more creativity and imagination. It's great that these episodes have been well preserved and presented in excellent packaging. Classic TV never too old
This is a superb collection of Classic Superman TV episodes, probably the best of the lot because these are the last two seasons in which the writers had a lot of fun with outrageous characters and wacky plots combined. Also the color is fantastic, never showing its age. That was one of the surprises of the Superman TV series was the color, because back in the 1950s most programs were in black and white but the producers had the foresight to do them in color midway through the series. It's a Classic Superman series of all time
I've been a Superman fan for a long time, seeing the series in the 50's when I was a kid in reruns. George Reeves made that character come alive with his presence & his confidence as a actor.
