I love vintage things from the 50's and 60's! What screams this more than Pink Flamingos? They may be considered tacky by many folks but not by me! Yard art my friends, yard art. My Sock Monkey Bubba, has been known to ride the back of the great American plastic Pink Flamingo! Twas a great photograph! But my dear friend "Don" did not call upon us for the incertion into the book! But still,Bubba remains smiling his red heeled smile. Hi-Ho flamingo! In his book! The photo did in fact make it to his My Space page and that was good enough for us! Ya see....Sock Monkeys aren't hard ta please. Giv'em a hug daily and your good ta go! Mind you,ya can't give the plastic Flamingo a hug because of the hard plastic! Sock Monkeys are soft and squishy! I'm not worthy of the Pink Flamingo!
As any aficionado of the pink plastic birds knows, Don Featherstone is the first name in blow-mold flamingoes. (Look for his signature on yours.) His pictorial compilation of his creations as seen "in the wild" is fun and hilarious. It's the perfect book for any hip coffee table; and if your coffee table happens to be vintage — especially Mid-Century Modern — it's practically de rigeur. Read it, reread it or just enjoy looking at all the photos!

What an enchanting addition to our home. It goes withour saying that we love flamingos and are not just proud owners of the pink plastic variety, but many which are clearly beautiful works of art. This book sits proudly on a coffee table in our sunroom and visitors can enjoy picking up, whilst enjoying a refreshing beverage. It is fun, it is happy, it is beautifully illustrated and written. All in all, a definite A Plus and one which we will enjoy for many years.
