As a general OBD2 reader this does the job. It reads and clears codes. There are other live data features but i have not tried them as yet. Junk OBD tester!
This tool was applied to three different types of automobiles (all of which had engine checks lights on. One Chrysler, one Chevrolet and a Hyundai. Each time the unit was unable to connect to the ECM and displayed a "Power failure" code. Each time there were no blown fuses or other problems with the port of any of these vehicles. Service after the fact by the manufacturer or updates which might address this software issue are non-existent, as the item is sold with a one-time access code to download relevant software. The tool is essentially declaring a "paper failure" despite that fact that the tool is the only "pen" in use! Three cars and three failures = lost time and cost of purchase. Work but it's still a little glitchy, and Software is limited.
The scanner works with my PC, but it was a little problematic getting the software to work. I had to download additional software to get it to work and though it works, it's still a little glitchy. It will occasionally disconnect with the scanner and you have to unplug and replug the USB as a workaround. Also, software is limited and is the watered down version of the "professional" version, which, of course, you have to buy. Not so Great
