This hunt is smoking fast. Don't underestimate the size though, it's a tank. My old router was mounted to the ceiling in my hallway and this monstrosity actually scared the crap out of me the first few times I came around the corner. I may wind up hiding this thing in a closet or something bc it's so out of place. Other than that, I'm way impressed. I really needed a centralized switch and since this one has 8 ports I didn't have to incorporate one in the hall as well. Too bad belkin bought linksys though. I've never been a belkin fan

I bought the Linksys EA9500 Max-Stream AC5400 Tri-band Smart WiFi Router hoping and believing it would have a signal range that would more than cover the 3200 square foot area of my residential home? Because my only access point is in the back room of my home, I needed a strong and capable router that could easily reach the front of my home; I thought the Linksys EA9500 would be that router? After getting it and having it operational now for over a few weeks, it is barely doing the job. The signal outreach at the front of my home is barely 4 out of a possible 5 bars of WiFi reception. While it has taken care of most buffering issues that I use to get using my previous router, I am somewhat disappointed and less impressed with the overall performance and WiFi signal reach of this router. I believe there are probably better and less expensive routers currently on the market that could outperform this particular one. Overall rating: NOT A BAD ROUTER FOR THE MONEY BUT NOT A GREAT ONE EITHER.Read full review

I've never felt like I needed to spend over $100 for a router, even when I had wifi issues throughout my house, I just felt like it was something everyone had to deal with, and it was just part of having a two story home. However, a family member purchased this router, and was singing it's praises about his improved speed & wifi radius, so I went over to his home and tested speeds for myself. He has a half finished attic that they use as a media/play room, so technically they have three floors. On the top floor, the signal loss was minimal, and my old router was past nearing replacement, so I jumped in and I don't regret the purchase at all. My home is about 2500 sq ft, the router sits about 12ft off the floor and about as centered in the home as possible. I have 100% signal strength everywhere downstairs (which is something I never had before), and about 50-75% signal in the furthest upstairs corner from the router. Previously that corner of my home had about 5% signal strength. I may put an extender up there just to guarantee I have full coverage. My previous routers had 3 or 4 ethernet ports, and I was using all of them. With 8 ports I'll have an open spot to finally pull cable to our bonus room and hard wire my components up there. I haven't noticed any issues while gaming (PS4 is hardwired), or watching tv/streaming media (hardwired Apple TV, Tivo, Bluray). We have a ton of data use in our home, both my kids play games & stream media on their iPads. This router has been fantastic. I'm not a top notch tech person; I do know how to run cables & hook stuff up on my own, so if you want a more in depth review, definitely look for something other than mine. However, if you're in a situation like I was in, you can't go wrong with the router.Read full review

Amazing device, since I installed it and have no issue with my wireless network. Very high speed, excellent range of coverage. The initial setup of the router was extremely easy. I am getting great reception throughout my larger house - full bars everywhere. Consistently great speeds when tested. Great speeds even at other end of house. The E7500 - AC1900 has a very nice interface that you can control the settings. You have parental controls were you can turn wifi on and off at certain times and easily block certain websites. You also have the option for a guest wifi access that you can turn on and off and people are not connected to the main wifi.

This router will not allow you to run 2 XB1 on the same network. In short, running >1 or more XB1 on the same network results in setting NAT to closed on one or both consoles making it impossible to host a multiplayer game such as lead a Destiny fire team. More details if interested. There is no easy way to provide wireless access to my 2 XB1s, so invested $600+ on this router and 2 RE7000 Range Extenders over the summer and it has been a long source of frustration and waste of money. Unfortunately it took me a while to identify the problem and troubleshoot the cause until it was too late to return. When both XB1 were online at some points my son and I could not could not lead a fireteam in Destiny but could join a fire team lead by people outside of the house. It turned out to be NAT was reverting to closed on at least one XB1 and eventually both XB1s. Restarting the network & XB1 will set NAT to open briefly and allow functioning if you start a game quickly. Talked to Linksys, they advised it is not possible to run >1 XB1 on a network. After I explained I had been doing that for 1yr+ they said more than likely internet provider or MS changed something. They did say setting up one in a DMZ and one out may fix; it didn't. Talked to the MS Answer Bar and they assured me I can run multiple XB1 on a network, they do it at the store and several employees had them at home. Told me it was most likely how the router was designed. Got home set up my old router, problem solved. Tried using the new router in bridge mode as the worlds most expensive range extender, and I cannot establish a connection to XBLive over the Linksys wifi in Bridge mode. Hope this saves someone some frustration and money.Read full review

What can I say? It is a wi-fi router. It works. Didn't get as much improvement in coverage area that I expected, but there was some. Overall fairly easy to set up if you are somewhat computer savvy. If not, it may be a little bit if a struggle. It is worth what I paid for it. Probably not what it sold for when it first hit the market.

This router is one of very few quality 8 port wireless routers made for home use. There are other brands out there but this brand/model is great in performance and port availability. Linksys EA9500 is top tier and the first everyone should consider. I can’t wait until the new version comes out.

Very easy to set up and It has the speed you want in a router. I now have no need for extenders do to the excellent Wi-Fi coverage of this Linksys EA9500. I am streaming 8 security cameras and all are about 8,000 Kbps and that is 24/7 without as much as a hiccup. Not to mention everything else that is going on at the same time. I was using a Linksys WRT1900AC and the new router blows it away!

So far, this router has been working flawlessly. Easy configuration and top notch performance. The enhancements to V2 were really needed to make this router what it should have been, but shame on the company & retailers for keeping it such a secret so they could unload their V1's on unsuspecting buyers!
