A deeply moving tribute to the millions who fell victim to man's most grisly activity.
Only someone with Wynton Marsalis' reputation could create a film score like this, and arrange artistes of such stellar reputation as those in this compilation to agree to appearing in concert with each other. Who else could pull off such a masterstroke as Nora Jones' American hymn followed by The Death of Falstaff and make them relate to 'The War' in such a moving way.
I think I've listened to this CD five times since receiving it four days ago. Having combined Music and Drama all my professional life as a performer/teacher I found this collection particularly evocative and inspirational. Thanks!
