I love it. Even if I had no intention to learn to play, this an excelent piece to disply on the wall of my mancave. C'mon, at $200 you just can't go wrong. Tuning, well, the strings on it seem to be low quality since they tend to break easily, but hey, that taught me to tune at a slower pace and much smaller incriments. I replaced with a much higher branded set (And have another set as spares). Aim for getting close to GDGBD for bluegrass, thats all I did. Still sounds great. So, now back to the first lesson practise: 3 pinch; 4 pinch; 3251; 4251................and so on. Remember slowly does it, and in about a year I might be able to play "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" !!

Very happy with this banjo. Well built, nice sound. Priced well for a first banjo that I can learn on but also built well so I expect it last as long as I want it to. It requires set-up out of the box but nothing you can’t pick up off the internet. I saw pretty much identical banjos for twice the price, both in-store and online, so I took the risk and it has paid off. Best of luck with learning the chords, my fingertips are killing me.

I was a bit peeved when I started to tune up the banjo and the first string broke at the end of the O ring so I had to remove the string and rewire the ring and then trying again to tune it up. But it is all good there was just enough wire to get it done.
