  • Great prints but costly per print

I've used several Canon CP 220 printers over the years. Very easy to use and prints last because they are dye transfer based (RGB ribbon heat transfer) not ink. That said, the cassette of tri-color ribbon dye and the glossy "tabbed" paper are unique and rather expensive. I don't print that many photos -- and I want them to last -- so this is an easy solution for me. You may prefer something different. ALSO, the CP-220 has a tendency for the roller mechanism to "break" and lose pressure on the print plate -- result: only half the photo gets printed. Takes a while for this to happen, and when it does there is a 20-30-minute fix with a drop of crazy glue that you can find on the Internet and you're good to go again. Additionally, these printers can be run off a rechargeable built-in battery (optional extra, you need to buy the battery) if you want to print "on-the-go" directly from a compatible Canon camera. I don't. -- but a nice feature to have.
