Practical
Pyrex is nice, see through and easy to clean. Watch out for thermal shocks. I can properly adjust the heat level, because I can see what's going on inside. Letting the pot boil violently lifts the lid of the plastic basket and the coffee grounds end up in the pot. Makes fantastic coffee. Far better than automatic or Keurig variety. The very top is cheap plastic, not glass. Rated 4 stars for coffee flavor. Would buy again.

We wanted icoffee that was hot after Brewing unlike the two electric drip ones we have. The open flame top percolator does just that, but does not hold the heat over a short period time and the handle gets too hot. Other than that coffee taste great with it.

Bye-bye, Mr. Coffee!!
After using drip type coffee makers for about the last decade or so, I've decided to try this. Unit came today and it looks like a winner!! Well constructed, easy to handle and looks to be well worth the money. Mine came with a clear glass perk-view top - not the plastic, frosted one pictured here. Think I'm going to like this!!

Have an old fashioned cup of percolated coffee.
As Americans we are spoiled by the desire of immediate gratification. Hence the creation of the K-Cup. I like drip coffee as much as the next person but a cup of percolated coffee is so different than what I can get from a drip coffee maker or K-Cup. I can brew as long as I like to get the most out of my coffee grounds. There is NO instant gratification here, just a good cup of percolated coffee that can be made as strong as I like. Now that cheap coffee can be made to taste great because I can brew as long as I want to get the flavor I want and take a few minutes to slow down and wait patiently for my fresh cup-o-Joe.

jolly good, percolator pot!
had my doubts about the plastic pieces, but it works perfectly. the key is using a trivet, when placing the glass on the heat source. now this being said, the trivet provided is trash. don't use it, until you've improvised one (easy), or use an actual trivet. if you try to use without a trivet, you'll mostly certainly break the pot, and/or melt the plastic pieces, or cause them to leach into your coffee, by them being made too hot, from the direct heat. so trust in the trivet, and ye won't regret it!
