    Action, tears, humor, love, courage, loyalty, friendship, great setting.

    Hercules series is always full of action, gods and goddesses, good scenery, sometimes other creatures, like centaurs or dryads. Season three is one of the best seasons, my opinion. Some more intense action-filled episodes, some with humor, some sadness, some more about relationships of people or gods. One humor/goofy episode is my least favorite (Les Contemptibles) don't know who wrote that one. Otherwise great season. Highlight episodes for me were one where Iolaus has to pose as his cousin, a king, for a time, a very emotional episode. Michael Hurst is an excellent, passionate actor. Also, the few episodes, beginning with "Encounter" where Hercules meets and falls in love with Serena, who he later finds out is the Golden Hind, a half-woman, half-deer...in the same way as a centaur is half-man, half-horse. A brief love story that brought tears to my eyes in three places. Hercules discovers Serena has magical healing abilities, and when his dear friend Iolaus is shot with an arrow in the woods, he finds Serena and begs her to come to help. She does heal Iolaus. But as he wakes, he reaches out to touch her and it transforms her into her Hind form.. It is then that both men realize that Serena IS the Golden Hind. She can transform back and forth at will, except a human touch will do it automatically; the reason Herc could touch her is that he is half god. Anyway, Hercules asks Serena to marry him, and Iolaus, who tells Herc he just has a bad feeling about his choice, ends up anyway being the lone witness at their very beautiful private handfasting. (This is beautifully filmed and brings tears to my eyes.) Not room here to go on and on. But I will say that these episodes also show the intensity of the friendship between the two men. To me, the underlying beauty of the series all the way through is the deep bond of friendship between Hercules and Iolaus, friends since childhood who would die for each other. Courage, Loyalty, love, emotions not hidden...even though they are buff warriors. Great.

    The story line itself was kinda bland but the disc's play well including the bonus features. It was still wrapped so all in all im happy with its condition.
