'XS MOTO' for Playstation, (2002), does not quite have the graphic splendor as the 'Gran Turismo' series, but for a racing change of pace, does well to present the feel of motorcycle racing, especially in the first-person view, which will take a little time to get used to, but is my favorite. Only the choice of tires, transmission type, (manual/automatic), and gear ratios, are available as there is no up-grading motorcycle. Championship modes are 'Novice' with all assists, 'Ameture' with some assists, and 'Professional', with no assists and damage. Clear all four championship tournaments, which consist of 3 races each, in 'Novice' mode, and you've cleared, (unlocked), same races in 'Ameture', and 'Professional' modes; there is also a 'Single Race' mode, if you just want to practice, though winning championships unlocks more tracks in this mode. XS MOTO has a large variety of tracks from different countries, ambient sound effects and in game music. I strongly recommend an analog controller for more responsive steering, plus is much easier on the thumb than D-Pad, which can also be used. Give yourself some time to get a feel for this race game, and soon you'll be flying around the tracks like an old pro.Read full review
