The god of destruction Az Atorze has managed to acquire the eight books of wisdom. Elta, the brave magician and hero, must journey through a series of stages defeating Az Atorse's henchmen and recovering the books of wisdom. After that Elta must defeat the god of destruction in a final showdown.<br><br>Magician Lord is a 2D side scrolling platform shooter. Players assume the role of Elta and attempt to fight their way through the game's stages. Each stage is actually composed of two parts, with doorways leading from one part to the other. By nagivating through both parts of a stage using the doorways, Elta can progress to showdowns with the stage bosses. Along the way, Elta can collect a variety of items that are released by destroyed treasure chests. Most items only give point bonuses, but there are two types of orbs that can help Elta in his quest.<br><br>The first orb type, power orbs, increase Elta's attack potential. The magician hero can be upgraded up to level three attacks, with each level doing more damage and having longer range. The second orb type is the changing orb. Three types of changing orbs are available: red, green, and blue. By collecting and combining changing orbs Elta can morph into more powerful forms with different attributes and attacks.<br><br>There are six forms that Elta can assume during the course of his journeys. These six forms correlate to the six possible dual changing orb combinations. The Dragon Warrior form requires a pair of red orbs, Raijin a pair of greens, and Poseidon a pair of blues. Combining red and blue orbs results in Waterman, while combining red and green produces Shinobi, lastly blue and green combine to create the Samurai. Each form has a unique attack method that can be upgraded to level three with power orbs. <br><br>Elta has a life bar with several blocks. Each time an enemy hits him he loses one block; when all the blocks are gone he dies. When Elta changes into another form he gains a few blocks from that form. When he loses those blocks he also loses the morph and turns back into his regular form.Product Identifiers
