The design of this flat panel cinema display is a double-edged sword. The singular seam at the base makes for a seamless and impressive exterior... however, if you ever decide to embark upon repairing one, be ready for some headaches. Apple built an acrylic stand with crank devices in it to "crank apart" the metal casing without doing damage. Without that device, disassembly will be interesting and you're probably going to damage it... at least a little. In addition, another design flaw is the plastic control panel strips on the side. They respond to touch, but because they're flimsy, they can become cracked and finding replacements is hard (if not expensive). Now... the bottom line is that this is a great little graphics studio monitor, and you can probably find one used for $150-199. For that price, instead of the more than 3x retail original price, you can't beat it... if you're wanting your desktop to be a bit more stylish. Negative - The power brick. I miss the ADC connection back when there was only one cord!! Damn industry standards.Read full review
What a beautiful monitor. Supports keyboard brightness controls, has a nice USB 2.0/FireWire 400 hub, and is overall the nicest monitor to sit on my desk. Colors are vivid and accurate, and the monitor is a good size. The only downfall is that the power brick needs to be close to the computer you are plugging the monitor into.

I love This Mac Monitor. The Apple Cinema A1081 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor. We've Used the Same Model At work, for 4 years and think they're fantastic! very inexpensive, and durable. worth the money! these last a long time.

The only thing that I think could have been better would be the power adaptor as it appears to have a connectivity issue (bad contact) with the monitor. Once the contact was made, the monitor has been working fine and no issues. Picture quality is the same as my original monitor

I bought this because I just bought a mac pro and needed a screen. This imac is truly still state of the art. Even though Ihavr been to the apple store and have seen the great thunderbolt models. Still this model compares with that, all new items are an omprovement on the last. That being said the thunderbolt being sleeker and thinner with a higher resolution is certain also with an enormous price tag. If you want similar quality that doesn't fall too short by comparison then this is your imac. The reason I chose a 20" is my deask fits it perfectly, without buying a new desk.
