Add New Life to Your Athearn Dummy Locomotives with these Wheel Assemblies
Take your old blue box Athearn dummy locomotives and give them new life with these new locomotive wheel assemblies. The metal wheels roll much better than the original plastic wheels. They may also open other interesting possibilities. I found I can add a resistor to the truck assembly and the locomotive is now detectable on my club's layout. I am going to explore the possibility of adding sound using the wheel assemblies as pick-ups for the power and processing signal a decoder will need.
