Great for small volume lead casting

nice small pot
very utilitarian, which is exactly its best selling feature. Now, if I could just find its "big brother", it would totally make my day-week-year. I'm a commercial fisherman who makes his own weights. A while ago I had my lead smelting apparatus "appropriated". This will allow me to make my 1 to 3 lb wgts. but I will eventually need to pour up to a 50 lb ball weight for my salmon trolling. Worth the price
For the person who makes his own weights and jigs it will work good. I use it on my Coleman cook stove to melt the lead. The pot has a lip on the back where you can clamp on your vise grips to pick up the pot and pour the lead directly into your mould.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It's a cast iron smelting pot

Too small for me
Well made. With proper use, it should last a lifetime; however, (here it comes) this LITTLE MINIATURE POT will only hold a few ounzes -- maybe as much as a pound of lead, no more. Fine if you are going to cast a few sinkers or mini balls but no good for casting anything of any size. The listing photos have no scale. Make sure this pot is right for your needs.
