Helps but takes some getting used to
This is composed of numerous sharp little plastic spikes that will make you feel like you are lying on a bed of nails. I have a few issues with my back and I do find this helps along with occasional adjustments from my chiropractor. It probably won't fix problems that you have, but for those living with chronic pain, I think they will find this to be a relief. The mat takes some getting used to. For the first few minutes that you're lying on it, prepare to feel uncomfortable. It helps to start out on a soft surface (such as your bed) and with a thin t-shirt on. I find it most helpful to start out with my shirt on, get situated on the mat, and then lift my shirt up exposing the lower half of my back (since that is where most of my pain occurs). I also use a half round foam roller underneath the mat to push it up more firmly against my back. The mat itself seems to be good quality and the length is just right to cover my entire back and the upper portion of my rear (I'm 5'9"). The pillow is a nice concept and feel good on the neck, but having spikes go into my scalp is too uncomfortable. Plus, it's a bit too large to be a good neck roll, and a bit too small to be a good pillow. I'm not sure what the design concept was supposed to be. Overall, I would recommend it for those suffering from occasional or chronic back pain in the lower or upper back.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
