Good clock for a good price
We've a couple of these over the years. The outside temp works well and can be quite a distance away from the unit and still be read. The last unit lasted us almost ten years. With the outside sensor giving up first. We now have 2 of these clocks and one sensor, both read outside temp., from same sensor. Wifi to outdoor temp unreliable.
The advantages are obvious. The wifi connection to the outdoor thermal sensor failed the day after I set it up. A second identical clock I bought around the same time does get the outside temperature -- most of the time. NOT BACK LIT!!
This clock seems to work fine. Easy to set up and looks nice. But as soon as night fell, I found that much to my dismay I couldn't read it! Since when did backlighting on a digital clock become a "special" feature? I am so irritated that no where in the description and no where on the box did it mention anything about not lighting up. It's a great product because it accurately and attractively displays both indoor and outdoor temperature,time, and day-date. I have 3 of them. The clock itself is reliable but the outdoor temperature sensor-transmitter has a . short life of only a couple of years, especially in tropical climates, and they can not be purchased separately from the clock. No outside temperature
I replaced an old LaCrosse clock with this new one. The old clock worked fine with both outside and inside temperature. It is probably 10 years. My wife wanted a smaller one. I put this clock in the exact same place as the old one. I put the outside sending unit in the same place as the old one. New batteries in both pieces. The outside temperature doesn't work on the new one. When I bring the outside temperature sending unit inside, it works. After changing batteries and location of the sending unit, it still doesn't work. Maybe it doesn't want to be outside.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
