Lightweight and simple to use
Cons' Well there really arent any. This tool is rather straight forward in its use and would remind one of a fence post driver in its concept. Pros 1.) For what you get, it is a good value. Again straight forward to use and you will learn your own best method of doings things rather quickly. Using a bungee and chain makes it very easy to work with. 2.) For what this tool does it is actually not that heavy (as far as weight goes) and that weight is rather even throughout the entire tool. 3.) Very easy to use and easy on the back. I have mauls as well and still use those for very stubborn pieces but as I get older I see myself using this more often than the maul. 4.) The wedge has cracked through several kinds of wood, in my use thus far. Hickory, Walnut, Red Oak, White Pine, Bradford Pear, Honey Locust, Maple and Elm thus far. Stringier wood can be a bit tough, but it is also tough with a maul. Ive also used it to get through some rather knotty wood and it split through it as well. 5.) Alternative Tool To Split Wood without an AX
This is a great alternative tool to use instead of swinging an ax. It is a lot safer and good for folks worry about swinging the ax. With this tool, one can precisely cut wood into smaller pieces for firewood. I would recommend this tool . The point of this tool is not sharp.
