    Best additional travel tool

    Bad Elf GPS gives my iPad more usage. In my car the large screen GPS makes it easier to see while driving, I can pinch and zoom from bird's eye to whole map bang zoom. And man is it fast, with traffic alert app that I also use its a no brainer. The GPS device that had the same abilities would cost me 2 times or more with a much smaller display. Bad Elf earns it's money.

    Only works with out an iPhone case

    I bought the Bad Elf GPS with lightning connector because I thought it would be a great addition to my other Bad Elf because we have a family of pilots and they work great. It works good but, unfortunately, it won't plug into an iPhone that has any case on it. The lightning connector has to be right next to the phone. I looked at extenders but the reviews for extenders were mostly only good for charging or they didn't work after a day. So instead of spending more money on bogus extenders I returned it and will by a Bluetooth Bad Elf 2200. If you don't have a case and want a great GPS then you're in luck! The product gets a 5 star but functionality gets a 1 so it's a 3 for me.

    Not exactly plug and play

    It doesn't easily pick up a signal when inside a car, sometimes it takes force-closing/re-starting the app is required for it to work well, and the pass-through charging port is VERY tight -very difficult to get the charger in. The snap dongle that allowed me to keep it on a keychain broke within a week. That said. We bought this so my kid could play Pokrmon Go on her 6th gen ipod, and it gets the job done. Usually the GPS location is reliable enough to play the game, though we've identified a few places where it insists we are about 100 feet away from our actual location.

    Low or high, fast or slow, bad elf is the way to go

    I use this track my helicopter using a none gps iPad. It gets information quickly and accurately. Once plugged in It takes literally two seconds to start feeding me data. An amazing product I wish I had bought sooner.

    Good, but with limitations.

    I hate to write 'bad' reviews. The unit will not fit into an iPhone having ANY protective case. It's accuracy is limited BY APPLE'S IOS location services. So it's lack of value is not it's fault. I decided to keep it anyway, hoping mods may improve it.

    Works great!

    Great little gps. Takes about two minutes to acquire sats and start tracking, but once it does it works great. Pass thru charging plug is a GREAT feature allows it to access the lightning connector and charge at the same time.
