The Olympus ME-51S is a plug-in microphone suitable for stereo recording applications in WMA format in quality SHQ mode. The wide frequency response of 100-15,000 Hz of this Olympus stereo microphone is capable of producing ultra-clear audio at any sound levels. The recording level indicants can be seen on the LCD while using this condenser cable microphone with WS model Digital Recorders. With a sensitivity of - 40 dB, this Olympus stereo microphone is very much responsive to quieter sounds as well for a better audio output. The 3.5 mm plug allows this condenser cable microphone to be used with digital recorders for enhanced functionality. You can either plug the Olympus ME-51S directly into your device or use the 3.3 feet extension cable for hands-free usage.

Sound Olympus ME51S stereo microphone
I purchased the Olympus ME51S stereo microphone to go with my GoPro Silver Hero 3+. I use the GoPro waterproof case fitted with a rubber grommet over a hole I drilled to make the case water resistant as possible when inserting the GoPro brand microphone adapter cable. I use the GoPro mounted in my sit on top kayak. I would rate the sound quality of the Olympus microphone as fair at best. A bit lower in volume than the GoPro without the waterproof case. Still, for splashes or light rain, the microphone seems to work okay. For better sound quality I would purchase a different microphone.

Shall use it with my Philips DVT-1200 with impedance regulator. The sound is clearer than the dictaphone's embedded one. Reasonable delivery time. Good quality.

Very easy to use but no better than average sound quality
I think both sound and build quality needs is not very good and needs to be improved. But it can make an easy, simple solution for those who want external mic for their voice recorders.

More quality sound in my voice recorder

it's no good for smartphone. bad sensitivity. didn't test for camcorders. it looks like it was designed for camcorders only. something about power supplying. this fact should be clearly stated at the description.
