Combined with the Behringer 802 mixer this Mic works and looks fantastic with my Kenwood TS2000. You can use the Behringer MIC100 preamp instead of the 802 but you will need to use the H BOOST setting in the TX DSP Menu. Using the 802 does not require using the ts2k's TX equalizer. It fills in the gaps. The Kenwood equalizer Menu just doesn’t hit the mids and highs like the 802. The mic mount fits just about any swing arm or tabletop stand including the Heil arms. I am using the Heil table clamp arm and a Marshall 56 shock mount. Marshall’s web site call for the 57 shock mount but the 56 is much cheaper and fits fine. WARNING! This mic requires 48 volt phantom power which both the 802 and mic100's supply. These mic's can be damaged from moisture so you need a pop filter or simply a pull over mic "sponge" filter so you don't get moisture from your mouth on it. I also noticed the mic sounds much better when you are speaking within a few inches of it, not two feet like some like to do. This mic has warm and bright switch, which acts like the old Heil HC5 (warm) and HC4 (bright) elements. It also has a 6db attenuator switch to be used in noisy or windy areas (like field day?) So far I really like this setup and the audio guys say it sounds great! 73 de JimRead full review
This mic has some B**ls. Seriously. I have used it to record and then turned right around and gigged with it. It outperforms my sm58 hands down and I just don't have the feedback issues I've had with other mics. If you are looking for a rgeat all around mic that will consistantly outperform many of the "big" names this is it. I would put it up against any mic out there. You really gotta get one of these puppies!
I have been using the (Marshall) MXL's for years in my studio, and have even replaced more expensive mics with them. I use 990's as overheads for the drum kit. I use V63's for room mics, acoustic mics, even micing marshall cabinets, and the v67 I use for vocals, sometimes I use 2 of them for a sort of stereo effect. I have used them to record violin and banjo also because of their brilliant frequency response. I highly recommend any of the MXL products for both quality and sound.
Not good at all. My unit arrived dead. Cheap construction, cheap sibilant sound. Avoid

Just like the MXL V67g, This V67i is a nice vocal mic that offers a 2 sided capsule with 2 different tone colors.
