  • Avoid it. There are better products out there.

I bought a few OO wagon kits by different manufacturers to test them before committing to buy multiples of the same or similar kits. This was easily the worst. First of all, the instructions are terrible. The next challenge is getting the kit parts off the sprues. Some of the delicate under frame pieces were joined to the sprue in four or five places with quite thick plastic. It took a lot of care to detach them, without destroying them in the process. They are also not numbered. Unless you are already an expert in the design of mineral wagon under frames, a challenge to work out what goes where. Then, there’s the kit itself. I started off gluing the wagon sides together. Not great. They barely fitted together, leaving gaps in a number of places. I have stopped building this particular kit and have moved onto the others, which I will use as examples to base this one on (the instructions for this kit really are that bad!). I anticipate buying around 200 wagons in the next couple of years. This will be the only parkside wagon that features. That’s if I ever finish it. It was the most expensive, as well.
