Great power handling and superb bass! The only gripe I had with these speakers is the high frequency rolls off early which makes the high frequencies sound a little dull. If you're handy with a soldering iron and know a little about crossover networks then you can bypass the tweeter resistor on the internal crossover and then the high frequencies will shine! Speaking of the crossover it is a 2nd order (also known as a 12db per octave) crossover. That means it has two reactive filter components (inductor and capacitor) for the tweeter and two for the woofer. The bass is on par with much larger speakers and is tight and punchy. Actually I don't think I've heard a speaker this small produce bass so strong and if you close your eyes while listening to them you would be fooled into thinking you are listening to large speakers. The vocals come through really clear like there is a dedicated midrange. The cabinets are very solid and braced which helps the with keeping the bass accurate, tight and punchy. The icing on the cake is the hidden magnets that hold the covers on. I have mine connected to a 150 watt RMS per channel amplifier (all 20kgs of it) and the volume level they can reach while still sounding clear is amazing and I actually had the voice coil smelling like it was burning, so I turned it down and they are still working strong and sounding awesome. So they are built like a tank. Because of the high sensitivity they are equally happy with a small amplifier of about 20 watts RMS per channel. I am so glad I bought these speakers and they certainly give my custom built tower speakers and large floor standing speakers a run for their money.Read full review
