    Will Do the Job

The preamp is easy to install. Comes with 2 nylon zip ties. But most nylon ties break down when exposed to UV rays. Tape over the ties after installation. It is powered by a 5 volt DC power inserter. Most other preamps use 12-15 volts DC to power up. So if yov have a central power system to power, you have to add on a 5volt now. I measure 13db of gain at 200MHz @6Mhz bandwidth. The unit says 20 db is nominal (which may be true at single frequency). The unit is not watertight. But built weather resistant. There is a 'weep hole' to drain any moisture built up in the case. I don't know if this is a going to be a problem or not. I didn't disassemble to see if the PC board has any 'Conformal Coating" on it to prevent water from affecting operation. I hope. In my area I have 5 stations that are from 76MHz to 510Mhz. It is made in USA. Around 40$ is the lowest price I've come across.

this unit worked ok, but stopped working after only a week.

This product worked well and was easy to setup, but it stopped working after about a week. Thus I returned to. I replaced it with an Onn outdoor amplifier from Walmart which was a bit cheaper and performed better and it seems to be working just fine so far, hope it continues. After the Winegard unit quit, I noticed reports from other users that had the same experience of it dying after a short period of use.

I utilized this both preamplifier and their inline amplified, plus one other inline amplifier (that goes inside the house, not outside at the antenna), and almost all my channels have been boosted to 100, the highest level showing on the signal strength indicator on my vcr remote!) We are very pleased with the product. Glad I discovered it.

  • Good Preamplifier, But Could Be Better.

I purchased the Winegard Boost XT to replace my previous RCA preamplifier which stopped working after six years. I initially set up the Winegard with the power unit inside the house in line with one of our TVs, as instructed. This configuration did not work. So, I moved the power unit close to the antenna and preamplifier, outside the house. This worked perfectly. However, the power unit is not made to be installed outdoors. So, I was able to move it indoors, still close to the preamplifier unit, by drilling holes and running cables into a hallway space directly behind the preamp. So, my advice is to keep the power unit relatively close to the preamplifier. Overall, I find the Winegard Preamp to be adequate. However, my previous RCA preamp was a little more powerful than the Winegard. There are a couple of TV stations that need more of a boost with the Winegard.

  • LNA-200

We live 50 miles from the major network stations, using a 6 way splitter to 6 TV sets the Winegard LNA-200 unit was installed between the digital antenna and the splitter. The result was going from 17 stations with fair(25% to 75%)reception to 48 stations with half of them at 100% and the other half at 25% to 75%.

  • Winegard Lna-200. Definitely worth the money

It’s easy to hook up. Was using an older probably 6 foot long tv antenna with an old Archer amplifier. 4 local channels on a big hill in rural north Arkansas. Now I have 39 channels and it’s 26 feet up on a tower at the end of the house. 39 channels and I’m not even pointing at Springfield Missouri 5 thumbs up if I had that many

  • So Far, So Good!!

This pre-amp is working great. I live 75 miles from the transmission towers, so I get signals but they are not very strong. With the pre-amp installed all channels are strong and solid, even in bad weather. This is my second Winegard pre-amp. The first one lasted about 8 years. I have a 40 foot tower and I had mounted the first pre-amp near the top, just below the antenna. The downside of that is, I have to lower my tower in order to replace it. This time I tried installing the pre-amp just inside the house where the coax enters (after about 100 feet of coax). That way if and when it goes out I would not have to lower my tower. I was pleased to discover that it works just fine, so I left it there, and so far so good. I never did check my signal strength with the pre-amp mounted just below my antenna, like the last one was, but the signal strength seems as strong or maybe even a little stronger than before. I'm pleased. I understand these can't last forever so maybe being in the house it will last longer than the last one, and no matter what, it will be a LOT easier to replace if and when it dies. From here on out, only time will tell.

  • Good quality item and good price

I bought this for when I put my antenna outside on a tower. I currently have a DIY antenna inside a window in my house a few feet from the TV. When I added the amplifier, I was able to pickup a TV station about 45 miles away that I wasn't able to get before. For this amplifier to work, you must use the power adapter that is included.

  • Great addition

I live in a coastal community approx. 60 miles to Charleston SC and 50 miles to Savannah GA so we're on the fringe of reliable reception. Antennas are roof mounted Clearstream 2v-j3 pointed to Charleston (has amp on) Before amp pulled in maybe 9 channels after I can get in the mid 20's, coupled with 360 pointed toward GA (combined and this one has it's own preamp) often I hit 30 channels. CBS still difficult but am still adjusting. Pleased so far. Hope to ditch our one and only cable co soon or use to feed guest bedrooms. Great Job winegard
