Let’s face it.. this is not a Gibson. It’s not even on par with my Epiphone Les Paul Plus-top Pro, much less a Gibson. However, I do have to say that this is more fun to play and for the price, one heck of a guitar. I have to laugh somewhat at those who say this feels heavy. Having been used to playing my Plus-Top Pro, this thing feels light as a feather to me. It’s a dream to play and I’ve found it much easier to navigate the fret-board than on my other Les Paul. Also, being much lighter, I don’t find myself getting fatigued after hours of playing. While some might argue, I feel this is basically an SG in a Les Paul body. I own two Epiphone SG guitars and it’s the same thickness and much the same sound. I do feel, however, that it has a better sound than my much more expensive SG. Others may disagree but that’s a matter of personal taste. Also the pickups on this are not as “growly” as the Probuckers on my Plus-Top pro, which in some cases is an advantage. I actually feel I can play a wider range of music on the LP 100. The pickups can be a little muddy on the base side but all in all, this guitar has a really good sound. I got the guitar in ebony and it is really a work of art. The finish is very glossy and a pleasure to eyes to view. For the cost of the guitar I would say I’m extremely impressed. From what I’ve read the tuners can be hit and miss, but my guitar stays in tune very well even when really cranking on it and doing bend after bend. I have to tune my guitars with Grovers and high-end Klusons just as much as this one. I feel this is an amazing guitar for the price and you get much more than you pay for. I see no problems gigging with this, although I can’t speak about using it long-term for such a purpose as I haven’t been down that road yet. But I would say, just from the great quality of sturdiness of the guitar, that wouldn’t be a problem. I’m extremely pleased with my purchase and am having a ball playing this thing. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a good, quality rock style guitar but not wanting to bust the bank getting it.Read full review
Came in a great box and looked like it just came from the shop. Action is fast and easy to play. Strings are new and instrument did not have to be cleaned at all. Very pleased with my purchase.

The wood grain used back in 1993 looks wonderful. This Gloss, 3 piece vertical wood used looks better than a lot of newer finishes out there. I knew going in that I'd have to put some money into it for the upgrades I wanted but hey, it's mine & I'll spend the money because when you look at it up close, it's just a beautiful looking guitar. I'm glad I own it & I'll really be happy once I've got it 100% complete.

Bought for my son who is learning. Even with 25 years of playing I would add this to my arsenal. Great for studio as well as gigs and at half the weight of a Les Paul my back is appreciative. This is a great first "real" guitar as well as it will age just as well as I have, ok maybe better.

My go to guitar has always been my Gibson SG Voodoo, but after buying this Les Paul 100 I find myself grabbing it every time I play. I sounds great! It feels great! It's not a Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty, but it doesn't cost $8,000.00 either. This is a great guitar for anyone, entry level or experienced musician on a budget you won't be disappointed!

Great Les Paul guitar for the money. Plays easy and sounds perfect. Although I just play for myself and not trying to impress anyone, I am very pleased with this guitar.

I originally , begrudgingly purchased an Epiphone Les Paul 100, because a Gibson was too far out of my price range.I got the Cherry Sunburst, that seems like the most popular. Right out of the box, it sounded ok. Needed some intonation set, and the string height was too low, and had fret buzz. I disassembled it, and while it was apart, put a set of seymour duncans in it for $150.00. I also changed out the bridge and tailpiece to gold, as well as putting on a set of grover gold tuners, and a set of schaller strap locks. Once reassembled it sounded and looked magnificent. Now here I am years later with a few gibsons under my belt, and I still go back to my LP100, cause it has a sound that I like. I have a Les Paul Prophecy GX too, but thats another review.....Happy Jamming!
The set up right out of the box was right on. I tuned it and it stays in tune. I hooked it up to my different amps and it sounded great on each of my amps I have a Mesa Boogie Mark IV, Marshall Full Stack, Fender 68 super reverb and a Vox DC30. For the price I didn't go wrong. I suggest if you are thinking of getting one you better act fast.

I had played on one when I was younger and just had to have one for myself now that I'm older. For the price you can't beat them and the weight is the big thing here if you play for any period of time with it hanging around your neck! The sound quality is great also, so what's too lose? If your a player or just a beginner it's the bomb with the speed of the neck and the ease of the frets. With a new set of ernie ball super slinky strings on her she is too love and hold forever! See ya on the stage! E-bay I shall return for another some day!
I've owned this guitar and it honestly feels great. It really plays well for the money. I wanted to buy a Gibson and it took me a while in the store to find one that could be better, this guitar really competes against major players. Has a good weight to it, not too heavy, but just enough to realize how good is the maplewood which it was made of. Has a very nice tone, from Led Zeppelin to Guns N Roses, to Metallica to Nirvana, to Hendrix to Slash, this really is worth it if you want that rock and roll tone.
