    It's Downton Abbey. It's more grand tahn the tv show. Characters are as engaging. The plot is cute but I'm guessing if a household of below stairs folk had tried to pull off a switcheroo like that heads would have rolled but it was entertainment by favorite actors.

    The movie is terrific but the sound was so soft on this DVD we had it set at 100, the highest my television will go, and we could barely hear it. The picture was also a little dark which made parts of it hard to see. I'm sure the original did not have these problems. The first 10 minutes was a little stilted and slow, but when they got into the swing of acting together, the movie itself was the best sequel I have ever seen. The quality of the DVD was poor, however.

    I love Downton Abbey but movies need a strong plot. There were interesting tidbits in this movie, including info on how things were done for a royal visit, but these details weren't really sufficient fodder for a movie. It was nice seeing the cast in something new and hearing their comments afterwards, so yes it was entertaining, but only mildly to moderately. The scenes were all well done. The DVD itself came fast, was new and in perfect condition, so 5 stars there.

    A Great triumph of the Downton Series, and for all the fans

    I am not sure if it is common to have an Asian man who are born and raise in East Asia who actually so enjoy the TV series of Downton Abbey (free with my Prime subscription, thank you!), and now also the movie. I can go into it in great details but I'll just brief. The underlying theme of the generational and cultural conflicts, goodness and evil in all human being, and evnetually that most of the goodness shining through, though standard receipes for successful literature/film/TV Series for ages, are so well done with a good dose of kindness, irony and drama in the capable hands of Julien Fellows and BBC production crew, makes Downton, one of the most successful franchise in recent BBC history. The fact that it is so successful without needing to resort to all the success formulaes of the Game of Thrones types gives us still hope for consumer taste and the future of the Western entertainment industry, though only a slight glimpse of hope of human decency. I can only say as much in the limited space that there is. However, it is hard for people who had not expose to the TV series to truely appreciate the quality of the movie, such my wife, is rather unfortunate. As for the physical product, the DVD itself was delivered to my door step through US Postal Services quite flawlessly. The DVD is new and in great condition! What else can one ask?
