NotesJapanese only paper sleeve SHM pressing. The SHM-CD [Super High Material CD] format features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic. Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. SHM-CD format CDs are fully compatible with standard CD players. Warner. 2009.
I decided to try this shm-cd versoin of this album to see if it sounded better than my versoin the 2011 remaster from the Sector Box Set.The shm-cd had 1997 on it so i assume its sourced from that remaster which i no longer have so i cant say it was a fair comparison but if i had to pick one to keep it would be the 2011 remaster,I would say if you have the Sector Box 2011 versoin or the regular 1997 remaster i cant recommend this cd based on sound quality but if you like fancy packaging and a high quality product then buy it.
